to quit windows aero, you need to open the windows services panel and stop the desktop window manager. you can do this also using a batchfile (net stop UxSms), to stop it everytime you start octane. if you have an 800mb mesh, it'll imo hardly ever fit into that ~850 mby you get out of a 1gb card. my biggest one to date was a little over 600mb/7mio tris and already uses 1.2gb vram - without textures.

you should think about buying a card with way more vram, if you want to work with meshes that big...
ps: as was already mentionend you have a 1gb card; there are no 560 cards with 1.5gb - only 2gb cards are also available of that type

well, if you combine graphics cards and want to use both for octane, the one with the smallest vram size sets the limit, as the scene is loaded into every card. if you want to split use, like have one card for rendering only, and the other one for display, a gtx 570 2.5gb would be a good choice. plenty vram - more speed. otherwise i'd go with two 560 ti 2gb and sell the one you have on ebay...

Hi Relox,
Sorry to hear that you are having issues.
I run a GTX 560ti on Win764bit. I've had no problems with Octane 252. I did have an issue with the card itself, but was fixed under warranty.
My 560ti is a 2 GB version, and afaik there are issues with various "flavours" of the 560ti.
It's a bit sketchy, but i seem to recall a discussion I had with a tech that revolved around you could normally only access "doubles" of the mem the GPU was built to see. That is, related to the 560ti, 1gb or 2, not perhaps 1.5 gb as per your card. There was also a bit of heresay that some cards were inflated to show more mem that they could actually use, or effectively operate with.
What does GPUZ show??..
I've attached a pic showing my config re Octane. The scene whilst not overly geom heavy will blow all the Cuda texture allocation. (afaik there's a limitation here inherent in Cuda) I just close the max node errors it reports, and it goes off and renders fine..
I know, perhaps not overly helpful, but hope may assist in some way.

glad it worked :)

btw: 8 times subdivided?!? means 256 times the polys? bummer. if you use octane, you may try to switch on smoothing on the materials, it'll may help getting along with a lot less subdivision...

yeah my object was like kind a diamond lamp so theres like 30 pieces of that so every piece was like 6 subdivision level i think i forgot to subdivide it like 2 times or maybe 3, so my scene was a total of 3 millon polys. plus the other objects in the scene. :) some objects i like to put them as a low poly and select the smooth parameter of the material editor saves me a lot of memory since the edges are not to visible.
