Hi,

My computer is getting to out of date, and I want my new computer to be optimized for Octane and Maya. So for both normal working with Maya and rendering with Octane, so what is the best that I can get for my budget that I've set for it 2200€ (euros). Could be a bit more or a bit less, but around that number. And I'm in now hurry, so take your time if your are willing to help.

In general: if you're going to render with Octane, don't get too hung up on getting an expensive CPU. Octane doesn't use it. Spend that money on a more powerful video card. It will help your viewport performance in maya, and your rendering speed in Octane.

That's certainly not to say that a powerful CPU is not an asset. It is. But these days, reasonably powerful CPUs aren't necessarily expensive. Unless you go for the super high-end models. The performance advantage per dollar (or whatever currency you're using) decreases dramatically as you start looking at the higher-end.

In my opinion, a Core i7 2600K is LOTS. Someone else may have further insight.

as i put together some parts for a friend recently, this might be of use for you also:

ASUS P8P67 WS REVOLUTION LGA 1155 Intel P67 / NVIDIA NF200
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 813131714R

Corsair CWCH80 Hydro H80 CPU Liquid Cooler

Mushkin Enhanced Blackline 16GB (2 x 8GB)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6820226316

2x ZOTAC ZT-50103-10P GeForce GTX 580 3GB
http://www.compusa.com/applications/Sea ... CatId=3669

SilverStone Fortress Series FT02S-W Silver Aluminum / Steel ATX 220
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6811163183

COUGAR CMX 1000 COUGAR-1000CMX 1000W
http://www.compusa.com/applications/Sea ... CatId=2535

if you add an i7-2600k, this is still well below 2000 euros. because of the nf200 chip, the board delivers 8x speed to all pcie slots, also the slot arrangement would allow a third card (or a fourth, with the bigger silverstone case). btw, regarding the case, i didn't go for anything else - maybe silverstone tj07 (same size) or tj11 (bigger) - best airflow...
The obvious is that which is never seen until someone expresses it simply

1x i7 2600K @5.0 (Asrock Z77), 16GB, 2x Asus GTX Titan 6GB @1200/3100/6200
2x i7 2600K @4.5 (P8Z68 -V P), 12GB, 1x EVGA GTX 580 3GB @0900/2200/4400
