    Plugins folder > OctaneOCMexporter.rb

    Usage:

Menu File > Octane OCM Export... > Camera
    or Ruby Console type: OctaneOCM::Camera.export
If options are available a dialog opens and you can choose from
<Current_View>, <Current_Scene> or any other Scene tab-name listed.
It exports the camera data from the SKP Scene into an OCM file
suitable to import into an Octane OCS. The file is saved with the model.
    It is named thus "../ModelName[Camera_SceneName].ocm".
Spaces and Non-ASCII characters are made into '_' in Model/Scene names.
    It includes:-
    eye [pos] [as xyz]
    target [as xyz]
    up [as xyz]
    fov [degrees]

Menu File > Octane OCM Export... > Sun
    or Ruby Console type: OctaneOCM::Sun.export
If options are available a dialog opens and you can choose from
<Current_View>, <Current_Scene> or any other Scene tab-name listed.
It exports the sun data from the SKP Scene into an OCM file
suitable to import into an Octane OCS. The file is saved with the model.
    It is named thus "../ModelName[Sun_SceneName].ocm".
Spaces and Non-ASCII characters are made into '_' in Model/Scene names.
    It includes:-
    sundir [vector]
    longitude [degrees]
    latitude [degrees]
    day [1-31]
    month [1-12]
    hour [0-24.000]
    gmtoffset [0-24]
    northoffset [0-1.0, i.e. North-angle as proportion of 360]

    Donations:
by PayPal to info @ revitrev.org

    Version:
    1.0 20110504 First issue.

This allows you to export OCM files of the camera and sun data separately from different scenes and then import them into the existing project's OCS without needing to re-export its SKP geometry again...

Feedback please...

Great job. Thanks for making this, its really helpful on heavy scenes.

I can't give you any genuinely helpful feedback immediately but with a brief attempt at using it, it seemed to work fine. (I cannot advise on accuracy of camera, but will certainly be able to when the next project occurs.)

My only comments might be ability to choose a destination folder and file name for the ocm, but I'm sure you're considering this for a future update anyway.

Thanks again!

This is a Sketchup only tool :(

It's designed to run from within Sketchup and export the SKP's current camera and/or lighting setting in a format that can be used with an existing OCS, without you having to re-export the SKP's geometry - i.e. a quick tweak to a few settings rather than a slower export of everything etc...
So, it is not compatible with any other program, and it could not readily be made so.

I suggest you pose the question on the 3ds forum and see if there is anything similar available...

Hum hum! it seems to work fine for me but when I import camera node in Octane how did I make it the "active" camera in the scene???
I have to admit that all this node stuff in Octane is a bit weird for me and there's not much doc or tut on the subject no?
may you help, or show me links related to this subject?

Ok TIG testing I get to know how to connect camera to the right node and it works fine.
however I get a problem with the camera move on a certain simple model.
When I export from SU camera is ok, but as soon as I move (pan or Zoom) the object desappear. Tried everything: reset camera, recenter view and camera zoom picking. but no way. The only thing little special in this model, is it is far from the Origin xyz (no that much however= 250meters)
Any idea why?

Is your original [exported] SKP model placed near to the Sketchup origin [0,0,0] ?
If not, then when you come to change the OCS camera it can jump wildly as you are far from the OCS origin... :?
