Hi HHbomb,
I guess I misunderstood, quick mode allows any update, in which cases you incur into this issue?

HI, Paride.
Create a fresh scene, make a plane, Open octane viewport, check Quickmode , add an Octane_Daylight.
Hide Daylight in Layer explorer. Still active.
Why do I use Layer explorer to deactivate daylight ? Because Layer explorer is very powerfull, to show or hide a bunch of objects or lights with a clic !

Hi HHbomb,
Did you set movable proxy as default in Octane global preferences > main setting?
New Octane properties option in the next plugin release would help your needs.

3DS Max - 2021.1 / 23,0 -23.1.0.1314

Whenever I'm rendering with OctaneRender Viewport this issue occurs. It's also something new to me this issue, but it's hard to know whether it's because of the nvidia driver, 3ds max or octane ...

Hi samsue,
Sorry about the response delay !
As Paride mentioned, we got puzzled by this issue and couldn't reproduce it..
-Does this happen only while the viewport render window is open ?
-Did you try with max2020 or other version?
-Does the compact editor work fine ?
-Could you backup your octane user config file (octane3dsMaxConfig.cfg)
(octane3dsMaxConfig.cfg can found with User Global settings/Tools/Explore User settings folder, that will open for eg: C:\Users\xxxxx\AppData\Local\Autodesk\3dsMax\2021 - 64bit\ENU\plugcfg_ln)
and try Preset/'Reset default settings' ?
-in Trouble shooting tab, could you turn on 'Enable Extra Log', and check if you see any warning ?
you should have those 3 lines every time you click on a new material/tex :
OctaneTexture::CreateParamDlg()..
OctaneTexture::CreateParamDlg() DONE. (0.078 sec)
uitOnDoneCreateParamDlg(): 0.094 sec

Thanks

Hi HHbomb,
That's right, currently Quick mode do not update the Octane daylight visibility correctly.
(You need to click on the 'Update render geometry' button to refresh this. (no need to rebuild the scene).
That will be fixed in the next release (10.16)
Let us know if you noticed other things (with movable proxy enabled) that do not update correctly with the Quick mode on.
Thanks.

-Does this happen only while the viewport render window is open ?

Yes

-Did you try with max2020 or other version?

No

-Does the compact editor work fine ?

Yes, in the period I tested seems to work.

-Could you backup your octane user config file (octane3dsMaxConfig.cfg)
(octane3dsMaxConfig.cfg can found with User Global settings/Tools/Explore

Ok

**seems to have improved, but not eliminated the issue, I need to
close and open again the
material editor (not the compact one), so it works again

i should see this on the "Log Windows" screen?

Thanks for the responses;
I tried again, but still couldn't reproduce it..
-good to hear that resetting the the Default settings improved things..

-You can see the plugin log messages in the Octane engine log window if you turn on 'Enable log to Octane Window' in the Trouble shooting tab; you should see this line when you change material
uitOnDoneCreateParamDlg(): 0.094 sec

There are some options that you could try, in the Slate Material Editor, Options menu / Preferences dialog:
-Use Compatibility Display Mode
-Single Click Opens Parameter Editor

Also, try 'Disable all Octane ToolTips' in Octane Global preferences, tab 'User Interface' ..

If nothing works, could you send me a sample max file ?

Thanks

I just want to give an update on this problem.

- with the new nvidia drives seems to have disappeared that problem.
- although the Render Tab is lagg when I move it.
