Otoy® is proud to announce the availability of a new OctaneRender™ for Maya® Version 2020.1
The world's fastest and most feature-rich unbiased render engine that integrates completely into Autodesk® Maya®.

Maya® Version Requirements

This release will work with Maya® Versions 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020 64-bit on Windows, Linux and OSX operating systems.

To use this version, you need a GPU of compute model 3.0 or higher. Support for Fermi GPUs (like GTX 4xx and 5xx) has been dropped. Also make sure you use a driver of version 419.17 or higher and if you are working on Mac OS that have a CUDA driver installed that supports at least CUDA 9.1.

Hi Jim,

here some updates about the bug I had with dirty node I figure out something for some reason the antivirus block the installation and after unblock still happen the same errors what we did we had to uninstall completely the plug deactivate all antivirus and I install this new one and all back to normal.

Really strange. Anyway looks like is working well now.

I have a question about the spot light (thanks for the update by the way) I struggling to make work the volume. when my scale scene is set at "0.01" I don't know how to do it right.
Please do you mind to give me a video or a test scene with the settings so I can see how that works?

by the way! great Idea for custom shader to add texture color on the lights thanks for that!

Cheers,
JO

I also had a question about the new spotlight. Seems to lack a softening of the edge or penumbra. Am I missing something about how to soften the edge of the cone?
