CUDA error 700

Hello, it is my first post in this forum but I've got a good reason. I know there is so many post about this error but nothing work for me.
So, what I got:
- 3Ds max 2017
- Octane demo plugin (just it, no standalone version) - 8.09
- nVidia studio driver: 441.28
- Titan x Pascal
- Windows 10 x64

How my scene looks like:
- Around 3 million poly
- 4 textures in 8k and a 66 textures in 4k

My problem? Here is a last log:

Code: Select all
Started logging on 09.12.19 17:52:32

OctaneRender Demo 2019.1.1 (6000101)

Error loading cuDNN file. The C:\Users\Pawel\AppData\Local\OctaneRender\thirdparty\cudnn_7_4_1\cudnn64_7.dll differs from the expected cuDNN file
CUDA error 2 on device 0: out of memory
-> failed to allocate device memory
device 0: failed to allocate post-fx buffer
CUDA error 2 on device 0: out of memory
-> failed to allocate device memory
device 0: failed to allocate post-fx buffer

After that I can't resume rendering. I have to restart 3ds max and I can do it again.

During rendering Im check what happen with my gpu. So, temperature is fine around 75C (afterburn) but task manager show me 11,6/12GB vram usage. It's too much and it is just a scene with 3 million poly. Im read in this setup I can render around 200 million :O Also the CUDA chart show 99% usage.
I don't know what happen. I got this card for long time and never had any problem.
Can anybody help me with that?

Thanks!

Hi,
it seems that your cuDNN library is corrupted.
Please, follow the path in the log and delete it.
Then download and install v2019.1.4 from the Downloads section:
https://render.otoy.com/account/download_archive.php
It should guide you to download agin the cuDNN library at first start.

Oops sorry, didn’t notice the demo version.
You can install OctaneBench 4.00c to correct the cuDNN library issue:
https://render.otoy.com/downloads/a/787 ... 0c_win.zip
Here is the link to v8.13 demo, based on 2019.1.4 SDK:

Ok, now i didn't notice any CUDA error... but still this scene use a lot of Vram and Ram. I make a simple test: box + 1 material Image. Without open viewport window all my vram usage is 4,2gb. When I open it, gonna jump to 5,9GB. I can't belive just box without subdivision and one material can be that heavy! In my materials Im using 4k textures writen in substance painter: png 16-bit. Also I do a test with 8-bit textures but I can't see any difference. Text with box I do with max 2019 - It's a clean version without any external plugin or different render engines.
