Octane in a custom version of Unreal Engine?

Hello,

I'm loving Octane and I already use it within Maya at work and at home. I'd like to be able to run it within Unreal at work also but we have a custom version of Unreal and it's proving to be problematic.

Is there anyway to get Octane running in acustom engine? It works fine in a vanilla version of 4.22.3 by the way and our engine is a variant of this but when I install and run it
I get a "different version of Unreal error..."

I've briefly spoken to the programmers here and they mentioned building the plugin from source, apparently they do something similar with the Substance plugin.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks
Alan

This is a tough one. We cant release the source for security reasons.

Maybe there is another route. You could try to check if it is possible to spoof the unreal versions.
Althought this would only work if the class signatures of unreal modules have been left unchanged (the plugin uses a large portion of the unreal api), otherwise you can get undefined behavior.

Hi Chris,
Thanks for the swift reply! I totally understand the security concerns.

I'll chase up the class signatures like you suggested and let you know how we get on.
Cheers!
