We've just released 20.1, with blender 2.8 and octane 2019.1 RC3. This version includes OctaneDB feature and dozens of bug fixes. Looking forward to your feedback about it.
Known issues:
- OSX/Linux versions are not supported yet
- The motion blur feature is during development
- The backward-compatibility issue of environment and volume nodes
We plan to get these three issues fixed in the coming 20.2 versions.
Here are the changes from the last build(20.0),
- merge Blender 2.8
- support OctaneDB(both LiveDB and LocalDB)
- - support to fetch OctaneDB without a selected object(a new material will be created)
- - support to grab octane api mode only when the blender is open
- support to release octane api mode automatically after blender is closed
- add "release_octane_license_after_exiting" checkbox in user preference(octane license will be released after Blender is close, which would be helpful if you use Octane across multiple machines)
- move octane server address setting to user preference
- complete error message when server port is occupied
- complete activation status in windows taskbar tip
- do not enable network rendering automatically
- - add missing Eevee/Cycles nodes
- - use color type for texture node output
- use vector type for round edge output
- hide cycles output sockets when octane is used
- - support reroute node
- support to group OSL nodes
- set up Windows build pipeline for all versions
- - build setup packages as the final release
- - add thin wall in universal material and specular material
- change transmission to RGB type in universal material
- support to customize "default material"
- add Octane postprocessor Override in 3d view panel
- use checkbox for Octane postprocessor checkbox
- fix the issues when multiple render tasks are created
- make Material Panel fold-able
- hide look dev render option in octane(will be shown when it's supported)
- add "prefer tonemap" checkbox in render setting
