Hey everybody,

I have a question regarding the activation of NVLink in Octane.

I'm using 2x 2080s and the NVLink Bridge with Octane 2018.1.3 in C4D R18. SLI is activated in the Nividia panel and I tried to activate the peers in the device settings in octane. Every time I send the scene to the live viewer the peers in device settings is set back to the default "-" and the scene runs out of memory.

I already read through this topic https://render.otoy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=69896. Anything I'm missing here? How can I activate it correctly in the plugin?

Thanks in advance,
Tobi

Hi Tobi,
are you able to use NvLink in Standalone 2018.1.3?

Hey Beppe,

sorry for the late feedback, unfortunately I have pretty much zero knowledge of the standalone but in the preferences the devices stay peered even when I activate the live viewer.

Best,
Tobi

Has somebody else tested NVLink in the C4D Plugin and can share some insights or any ideas how I can solve this problem?

Thanks.

I read somewhere in this forum that other people had problem with NVLink and Cinema 4D too. Standalone version works fine.

Thanks for your reply SSmolak.

Pretty unsatisfying situation. It also seems like nobody has a solution for this. Maybe aoktar has some time to look into this?

I'm bumping this one as I'm thinking about getting NVLink for my 2080tis. Anyone can confirm everything works as it should in C4D?

Are you sure you use 2080TI not 2080 ?

Here is small test utility for NVlink : https://www.pugetsystems.com/labs/suppo ... ctionality

From what I know it shouldn't matter, both support NVLink in the exact same way :) Weird that we don't have that many people NVLinking around here... Still don't know whether to go with it or not.
