Unable to use my GTX 780 in Blender Octane 2018 / 17.5

For some reason I am unable to select the check box for my GTX 780 in the Blender Octane Render devices preferences box. A red X flashes in the box when attempting to select it. This happens even if I uncheck my other two graphics cards - Blender Octane simply will not allow me to select my 780 (see attached movie screen recording).

I do not have this issue in Octane Stand Alone 2018.1 RC6. I have two GTX 1080 ti's and one GTX 780 and can use all three cards there.

FYI - don't know if it matters but I am not using the most recent NVIDIA drivers. I currently have installed 416.34

Hi,

my advice is to install the latest NVIDIA drivers (it's safe to do it now, especially if you're using the latest Octane for Blender build).

I installed latest drivers (419.35) and while they seem to work fine on all other areas of Octane, I am still having this same issue (can't select my GTX 780 card).

Are you downloading the drivers from the NVIDIA page or are you using the Geforce Experience application?

Downloading drivers direct from NIVDIA - got rid of Geforce Experience a long time ago!

Did you check if the card works fine and it's correctly seen by Octane Standalone?

Yes (but only on final releases, not development builds). I also ran the Octane system profiler that Otoy support advised me to do and uploaded the results.

Some important information I sent to the support team ( A. P. Breuker) just afterwards: Installing the stable release of Octane Blender 2018.1 / 17.6 solved the issue. On that version I can now once again select my GTX 770 card!

So it seems the issue is related to the development builds in some ways. This would make sense since I can also select the 770 in Octane SA 2018.1, but not the recently released development 2019.1 XB! release.

What is different in the development builds as opposed to final releases that might prevent the older cards from being selected?
