Perfomace question with Riser card + many GPU

I consider about new rendering machine, because I use 4 CPU with 9GPU now, it consume lot of Power.
Currently, we can use Lot of GPU (may be 8) with 1 Mother board via Riser card.
But this configuration is not good for data transfer rate, it is same as PCI-Express 1 more.
My question is This situation is good for Octane Render ?
I feel that multi CPU environment with LAN is more slower than this situation, therefore no problem for Octane Render.
I have no knowledge with inside.
Please inform real result or your guess.

This is a general Octane question, so I suggest posting in the general Octane forum rather than the plugin forum.

I have 3 GTX 580 on risers with one motherboard. Plus I plan on adding more.
Trust me its worth it. Render score 135.99 with 3 GTX 580

I would advise you to sell these 580s and buy one 980Ti. The performance will remain the same, but the power consumption will be reduced about three times.

Yes, I do understand that. This started out as a test. To see if the risers would work well.
And the 580's was in my budget to get with an-okay render score.
Also with testing, I figured out that you can get a GPU that has been declared unsuitable for games and still use it for GPU rendering.
