Saving changes in the node graph and materials editor

This may be a stupid question but i can't find a way to save any changes made in the node graph and material editor. Whenever unity crashes or when I reload Octane all the changes are lost witch is soul-crushing. I would greatly appreciate any advice on how this can be avoided.

Thx.

It is designed to save the override materials as you save your scene (CTRL+S). Does that not work for you?

Whenever I add nodes to a material the changes are lost when octane is reloaded, I will do further testing with changes inside nodes.

No, any changes made to nodes are set to the default values whenever octane loads.

Sorry for the messy replies but I think I'v figured out what the issue is. It seems that when you only make a change in the node inspector the changes are not able to be saved , however when you also make a change in the Nodegraph editor all changes are saved. So for example; I can't open an existing material with only a diffuse node and change the power value of the emission and save it, but if I also make a change in the Nodegrapth editor, for ex add a specular material node then the changes are able to be saved.

We try to drive everything from unity. Which is why certain changes are not saved.

We save 3 types of changes in the Octane nodegraph GUI
- PBR Override materials.
- Render target settings. <- backup measure
- .ORBX files. Nodegraphs inside orbx files can be saved. (This should be used if you want to add octane specific objects to your Octane for Unity Project)

If any of these do not work for you, please tell us.

Any other changes are discarded. This might change in the future.

- Changes made to PBR override materials can only be saved if a change has been made in the node graph editor. For example: if I make a change on an existing diffuse node i'm unable to save the change, however if I then add another node and then delete it again the changes are able to be saved.

- I have no problem saving changes to the PBR render target.

- I'm not able to save any changes in .ORBX files.
