I take it your are logged in with your unity account?

In the Octane Settings window, is your Login Account set to "Unity" and your license to "Automatic" or Prime?
Could you show us a screenshot of your Octane Settings window?

Could you provide us with the full error. (If you click on the error in the console you should be getting a full callstack showing all the function calls that led up to the error)

If I try to login in the Octane PBR-window with the Octane account (clicking "Load Octane") I get the "unlicensed" popup. If I try to login with my Unity account nothing happens and I get the above mentioned error message in the console.

If you mean by "logged in" if I am logged into the Unity engine, the answer is yes. I tried "automatic" and "Prime", same result.

This cannot be a temporary server issue, as the problem still persists, just checked seconds ago. Unity is allowed to connect to external servers in the Win10 Firewall.

If I try to "Load Octane" with Unity selected the stacktrace is as follows:

Code: Select all
Failed: System.InvalidOperationException: Unexpected response from server.
UnityEngine.Debug:LogError(Object)
OctaneUnity.<>c:<Check>b__14_0(AuthCodeResponse)
UnityEditor.AsyncHTTPClient:Done(State, Int32)

Edit: Octane plugin says it's version is 1.1.0.1223

Edit: If I cancel the Octane licensing dialog the PBR window says Octane is active (Load button shows "unload") but all Octane menu items are still greyed out.

This is quite odd. The response is from the unitys authorization server. We use this to request you for your consent for allowing us to see if your unity account has an octane licence. (Free and/or paid).
Could you try with another unity account?
Would it be possible for you to PM me your unity account name/email so that we can ask unity what is going on?

Hello.

I own the standalone + Sketchup+OctaneRender® for Unity+OctaneRender® for Unity

I think, after suffering through the SketchUp plugin, I might have earned a spot!
The stressful nights trying to get a deliverable out for clients with that plug-in lead me to the standalone.
Ahh... the stand-alone ... is such a joy!

Hello,

I'm having the same error:

Failed: System.InvalidOperationException: Unexpected response from server.
UnityEngine.Debug:LogError (object)
OctaneUnity.EULA/<>c:<Check>b__14_0 (UnityEditor.Connect.UnityOAuth/AuthCodeResponse)
UnityEditor.AsyncHTTPClient:Done (UnityEditor.AsyncHTTPClient/State,int)

In octane -> settings:

My Login Account is set to "Unity Account" and License to "Automatic". I do not own a separate Octane License.

Help please! Seems to be an old issue.

Are you logged in? If so, could you try a different unity account. Octane and Unity anonimously cross verify accounts (we get no account info, just confirmation your account is legit)
This sometimes breaks down with certain accounts for unknown reasons.

Hello Chris,

Thanks for your reply.

I am logged in, both in the Unity Hub and in the Unity Editor. My license in the Unity Hub is active too (I have a "Personal" unity license. i.e free)

I created the account and activated the license yesterday. Could it take some time for Octane and Unity to cross verify the accounts? If not, can I contact Otoy to manually verify mine?

I could create a separate account on the same terms if not (another account with a Personal/free license)

Kind regards,

Eduardo
