Multi-Pass Rebuilding from Octane in Nuke

Hi all,

A friend of mine is handing me multi-pass EXR renders from octane and I'm looking to rebuild and composite them in Nuke. I'm not familiar with the way passes from Octane rebuild to re-create the beauty. Given that Octane renders out filters for each pass, I'm guessing it isn't additive, such as Arnold. Can anyone tell me the correct order and operations needed to rebuild a beauty pass out of Octane for C4D or Houdini. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Hi fuzzymango.
at the following link to the documentation of Beauty Passes, you can find informations on how to compose all the passes, with example files and Nuke project:
raw_example.zip
Happy rendering,

Thanks for the link. However, I still have one question. In the image you can see that each pass is being multiplied by the pass filter then added to the rest of the passes. However, the diagram below under "Beauty Pass Reassembly:" shows each pass just being added to the next with no indication of a filter being used. Which is correct?

Additionally, when I try to download the example files .zip folder I get a message saying I don't have the correct permissions to download the files. Not sure if you can help me with that one.

Hi maverickpixel,
no secrets, I had only shared the example file with fuzzymango, due to server permissions issues.
The answer is in the link to documentation and example file above.
Please, let us know if you need more assistance on this argument.

Hi,
since your forum color is purple, you should be able to download the linked example file.
Anyway, I’m going to send you a PM.
