I have flagged this bug before, long time a go and I start to think
for one, if you dont listen and correct bugs then just say it.
This bug have been her for years, in version 2.x as in 3 and I have reported it. it makes the color correction node worthless in many cases.
Just check the file

HI dawe,
Color Correction node seems to work correctly, in Octane 2.25 and Octane 4.34;
It also works fine by importing a 2.25 file into 4.34.
Could you kindly tell me when color correction node is worthless?
Regards
Paride

And as I see it on your attached images it behaves wrong.
It should not go darker as it does in your example

Sorry, I don't suppose I understood just what it was you are saying.
Attached a screnshoot with your file (purple sphere).
I added two spheres, one with color correction node and one without, I do not seem to see any anomalies.

Hi again. So this is my last attempt to convince you even though I have done it before. The scene you show here is not the file I sent you or you have resettled the hue spiner from 1 to 0. To me it´s obvious that you don´t want to see the problem here. Why?

If you look at your rendered color spectrum its clear that the behavior of the green for example is not consistent.
Now i put up another image for you, showing what I mean.

I have advocating to use your software on to major projects during the last year and this is simply embarrassing. I can´t do this any more. Every time I try to report a bug, it´s as if you taking it as a complaint; I´m trying to help you out. not bring you down. I know I`am not right all the time and I don´t care I just try to help you, and me as a user in the end.

You might think that the tone here is out of line. well it´s because I think I have to spent to much time debating over this. And I think the otoy team are to ignorant. it should be in your interest to find a bug it seems to me you are mere protecting your investment.
I´m leaving you here and wont advise companies to use this software on a bigger project.

Hi dawe,
I apologize, for misunderstanding, with your last screenshot I understand what you refer.
I thought you referred about wrong match between material editor and Octane render viewport.
What you consider a bug can not properly be called this way; Octane Render is a render engine that works on a spectral color curve, not RGB values.
Color correction node is a transposition of a RGB color correction tool applied to a spectral range, so it is not always possible to have a match.
Therefore, the color correction mode can not be used with absolute precision, but you can think of it as an on fly modifier for images/textures etc.
I'm not a developer, but I think OSL can solve issues like this.

Ok, but function that don´t work as 99.9% of the population expect, is either not working or it´s not named correctly.
