Houdini Octane and Substance ? Tweet

Hello,

Anybody knows if we can use Substance designer in octane in Houdini ?
I see that there is a Mantra link but I don't seem to find any info about Octane.

Hi,

The .sbsar files are not directly compatible with the Octane plugin currently. I know that the substance plugin for Houdini has some kind of scripts that should make possible configure it for other renderers. I'm investigating it, but I am not sure if it is going to be possible with Octane.

I guess it is possible with Octane in c4d but you must use a convert material to octane.

Will substances be supported at some point? There now seems to be support for them in Mantra.

Perhaps at some point, but there are a lot of work to do before, for example the native support of vertex attributes
