Comes with two .obj exporters - you can switch between the two inside the Octane Exporter GUI.

  • "Lightwave HC OBJ Exporter" is Lightwave Layout internal obj writer only available in Lightwave HC (build 2013 or later)
  • "Octane OBJ Export" is written by me and windows only. For Lightwave 9 or later.

Please check the readme inside for more details and differences between the two.

!Please make sure you read both the offical manual on Plugin<->Octane workflow and the readme.txt inside this package before using this plugin.

If you have any issues please give me information what your export settings are and what you're exporting. You can reach me on skype 'walfridson' or at my mail if you want faster contact or sending me files.

v0.2e changes: sets autokey to true when rendering
v0.2d changes: bug fix
v0.2c changes: logfile output
v0.2b changes: removed 3-4 point limit, didnt know octane supports more... :)
v0.2 changes: Octane OBJ Export rewrite. Have to modes, "Normal" or "Fast". Fast is a bit more dirty but might actually fix UV problems if you have any. I recommend using "Fast"

tested 0.2b now again on mac. same issues. 'failed to copy obj' followed by 'failed to copy mtl'.
everytime, no matter if a single object or a more complex scene.
i'm using use all default settings, just the exporter settings are set to 'lightwave OBJ export (hc only)'.
Same issue if i use the 'export obj/mtl only' button.

LW build 2015, osx ub 64 bit, on mac osx 10.6.3.

attachments: screenshot + object which i tried to export.

Do you have ngons? Also I think only one layer in layout is possible for now.

The plugin is really fast exporting this time  . Just notice that the camera bank angle is not supported?
Also the master plugin settings can't be saved with the lws file?

Another test

I still can't use it.

Please attache simple lws/ obj/ ocs / lwo files so we can check it with your simple working project.
And please attach screengrabs of all settings.

Thanks

sjonsjine could you open up "edit plugins", see that you have OctaneExport.p in there with a layout command called OctaneExportOBJ ?

Thanks
