Could you Otoy guys not just come up with some info news posting containing everything there is to know about your licenses, student, subscription etc., currently available options, future plans, anything? I'm really interested in getting a subscription license, can't afford the standalone since I'm just a hobbyist rendering tinkerer, no pro.

You can search our @otoy twitter feed for consolidated answers. TL;DR - we are rolling out subscriptions most likely in a month or two. We want to make sure the new 3.00 and ORC licensing/sign-in system is rock solid before adding this layer.

Thank you for the update. Will subscription licenses be for standalone version and plugins? Or will you still need to purchase the plugin licenses separately?

We are planning to introduce subscription plans for both SE and plug-ins, as well as SE+bundles of 2+related plug-ins at a discount in some cases. This was covered in the GTC16 roadmap presentation.

Does this mean I won't be able to deactivate remotely anymore? That's been a handy feature thus far.

Since V3 licences are floating (in online mode), you will automatically release the licence for use on another machine when it is no longer in use.

Hi Colleagues!

I am trying to reach sales team, but have no answer.

Maybe here somebody can help?
I want to buy student license v3.0 for Cinema 4d.
Is it avaliable for now?
Can somebody provide information about pricing?

Thanks.

I want to know when the cut-off is before I have to pay $45 for the stand-alone and $45 for the plugin.
I should have enough money to upgrade soon, but I want to make sure I don't miss out.

Thanks!

I'm also curious about this. I will likely have the funds to do so in the next few months but want to be safe. Maybe even a ballpark range like a year or until Q4 of this year?

Hi Grandis,
unfortunately there was never been a C4dOctane student license, and all the student versions will be discontinued when the new OctaneEngine with subscription will be presented later on this year.

Hi profbetis and zeigg,
difficult to say, but in general, the grace period is measured in weeks, not months ;)

I upgraded from 2 to 3 yesterday and was pleasantly surprised at the low upgrade price of $75 for Octane Standalone and a plugin. Thanks very much Otoy!
