Captain Crowbar has now joined the OTOY team and will be looking after the Sketchup plugin. He will start posting plan details over the coming weeks.

Let's hope he's more Captain America than Captain Hook...

Hi all! I'm Ross Smith a.k.a. Captain Crowbar. (Yeah, I used to play a lot of Half-Life.) I've just joined OTOY New Zealand this week, but I have plenty of experience in software development behind me. I'll be taking over work on the SketchUp plugin. I'm still finding my way around the code here so I can't promise miracles immediately, but I'll try to get updates and progress reports out to you on a more regular basis.

HI Ross
Welcome to this forum and plugin.
Really nice to see that OTOY now have a dedicated person to the SU plugin.

My Expectation's
1
Get a solid road map with some kind of time plan established.

2.
Update the forum on a regular bases. We are many and we are checking what is going on.

Is the plan to follow / continue what fuzzybro have started or you have other plan's????

Hello Captain!

So good to hear from OTOY that we have someone that will talk to us :)

Yes - the most important - just keep us updating what is going on in therms of development of the plugin.

From my standpoint - the nodal system that Bro started is crucial and proper structure of groups, nodes,.... Just look at my posts, e.g.
viewtopic.php?f=31&t=41560&hilit=perfect+exporter

The new standalone-like nodal system in SU plugin would serve as a geometry source and texturing would be done exactly the same as in the standalone.

So shoot us with questions and we'll be delighted to help.

Cheers,
