Octane Snow

My result after attempting to create a realistic looking "fresh snow" material. Just a single diffuse texture with a mix of perlin and turbulent noise in the displacement and some absorption. Check the progress and project file here (C4D):

Very nice. Are you using only procedural for displacement?

Yup! Only procedural noise from Octane.

Procedural noise for displacement? How did you manage that? Does octane now allow for procedural textures to be used as displacement?

Snow - Diffuse material!??? Seems no because your scene isn't equal to the real life... But yes should change material to "specular" due to like a bit "ice". ;)

hi ElBloko,
not properly, there is a special option in the c4d integrated plugin made by aoktar that let us use any c4d procedural shader that will be baked on the fly as texture image and can be used with octane displacement ;)
Basically, is like to use the standalone lua script for generating noise texture from procedurals, so is just a workaround, but it could be very useful and easy to use. On the other hand, some bad tiling effects could happen.
I don't know if other plugins have the same option.
