It all looks correct and it should work. I can think of only two reasons why it doesn't work: Either there are still issues with the drivers or the kernels which were compiled on OSX are broken for Maxwell. Unfortunately we can't test the 980 on a Mac here. Could you check if other CUDA applications work on your system with the 980?

Damn! I can't get it to work. Spent hours reading forums on nvidia drivers and versions and terminal hacks. No cuda apps are working for me. I'm giving up. Will keep running windows until yosemite and nvidia are friends.

Thanks anyway!

Please try installing CUDA 6.5.25

This is a working version.. The new 6.5.33 doesn't work.

Let me know if it doesn't work. I'll head home and find out what Nvidia driver I use then you can use the combo (Nvidia and CUDA) to get it to work. :)

Thanks for that info! Will try this. To downgrade CUDA - is it just to download apropriate installer and it will overwrite?

Haven't had the chance to try it yet. In the middle of a project right now so better finish that first.

for mac there are different CUDA installers for maxwell 2 type (geforce 980 and 970) and all older cards, probably you did install the wrong one? this seems to be the latest one for 980 cards:
http://www.nvidia.com/object/macosx-cud ... river.html

see discussion and tips here:
http://www.xlr8yourmac.com/index.html#N ... DA_Updates

ordered a 980 card myself, so i will check this next week.

cheers
