Any thoughts or images from the beta testers yet?

...I've probably just been looking at the wrong parts of the forum and there's a whole thread of information ;)

Are you happy with how the development is going aoktar?

thanks to your interests. We are very busy with development. it's going good. I want to complete all base features and fix current bugs before public beta. Testers may have not attention to this thread. We have some test images, but not enought right now.

hi, i'm one of the beta tester of the c4dOctane integrated plugin.
Aoktar is making a great job and some important functions are already active like net-render and "render queue" for example ;)
here are some test renderings, basically for testing materials:
- an interior scene, the geometry is from an evermotion cd, for testing various mixing materials and kernels:

direct lighting ambient occlusion

direct lighting diffuse

path tracing

- specular materials with sss:

- glossy with film coating and specular with dispersion:

-and a grab of the interface:

hi, the gap between the different kernels is exactly the same as in octane standalone, in particular, for the interior scene the timing was ~1h :30' for ao, ~2h :30' for diffuse and ~6h :30' for pt at 16.000 samples, the harware is in my signature ;)

It will be released when it's finished and stable enough and not earlier. And nobody knows when that will be, since the development of something non-trivial like an integration plugin usually takes more time than expected. That's the way how software development works.

thanks.
As Marcus said that this is really hard job. To develop a Integrated Plugin not soo easy unlike to a exporter. I have to face unvisible issues for users. When we are ok about stability then we'll publish plugin. This is not soo far...
