Ok, modifying the daylight parameters works.

Another question, not directly related to Poser version, but is there a best practice in terms of handling hot pixels? Using the hot pixel removal feature is good, but blurs the image slightly.
When I have a few near white reflective materials I can not get rid of the hot pixels even at 30,000 samples? Is there a better way?

Hi Peter

There definitely seems to be the rare material/light setups where it doesn't matter how long you leave the render. In these cases I've cheated and rendered with a high caustic_blur value which seems to help in the majority of cases - but there is some blur too. If the hot_pixels are due to light transmitted through glass, dropping the "indirect_light_importance" seems to help too. A few pure white materials put together magnify the light if there is too much light. I guess it's easy to put color 255/255/255 into a material, but hard to actually get something that white in the real world.

I feel like the student giving advice to the teacher....so I will stop now.

Zay, there has been another report of this. I suspect a new material has been added which the plugin is having an issue with. Maybe a special character in the name. I will sort it out tomorrow.

Regarding the LiveDB error - there appears to be a corrupted category that has been added to the LiveDB. I will code a fix so that it ignores this new category and release it in the next 24hrs.

Got this error when picking a material in Posers material room :

Hi Zay. Do you always get this error when you click that material? Or was it a one-off?

It was one of those one time bugs - so far.

Got another. I get this CUDA error after rendering animations for a couple of hours. It's happend twice now. Same error.
Code: Select all
Opening OctaneRender for Poser Setup Dialog
CUDA error 999 on device 1: An unknown internal error occurred.
    -> Kernel synchronization failed
CUDA device 1: Failed to run post-processing

Have anyone tried animation rendering over night with post processing on?

KeyError: 39

I have updated the 1.02r installer to rectify this issue. Pls re-download from the link at the start of this thread..

Cuda error 999: Zay - is there any possibility that it's a heat issue?
