OctaneC4D-stuff Dropbox project

Started this folder which is open for everyone who wants to take part.
Just hit me with your email and I'll add you.

As for now - everyone is Read only. Just to make sure nothing gets edited by mistake etc. I've got Dropbox Pro but can't find anyway to setup an "open" folder within "OctaneC4D-stuff" which could work like a throw-in-what-you-want kind of folder. So I guess either I set everything editable for everyone, or you add stuff here which I put in the shared dropbox folder.

Hit me with your ideas. And If you wanna get added. Just Hit me with your email!

UPDATE 2! Lot's of people want access, but there's a handful - at most, sharing stuff. So new rules:
If you want access - use link below and share something. And I will add you to the shared folder. This has become very time consuming and time is something i would need more. So share something and get access. Makes the work more useful to me.

UPDATE! Use this dropbox-thing to send me your scenes/stuff. Will delete the INBOX-folder. Too much double work.

Hi martincarlson,

nice Idea... already send you an email.
This thread should be stick at the top of the forum or even should get a new subforum, something like "C4D Octane Shared Projects".

I have a little object tag and light setup scene to share, I made a few days ago.
Some basic technical stuff with a fast rendering IES spot light, a gradient light for HDR-like smooth reflections, but without casting illumination and some more things, that can be done with lights and object tags.

Get it here.

Happy Rendering!

Great Chris! Will add it to the folder. You're invited now.

About the thread as a sticky - guess that is a admin thing?

Should I set permissions that everyone can add/change stuff?

Or should I create an Inbox-folder where everyone can throw stuff in which i sort in the protected folder?

great stuff, Martin. Yea if you're happy to sort through the new things that might be better than everyone just uploading randomly.

nice file btw Chris, some good options shown I hadn't had a chance to try yet.

+1 but if not problem for you to spend your time for that. otherwise there would be many confusions like; deleting by accidents, also auto-backup feature of c4d bla bla..

btw, thanks for the musics. like it!

Ok.

So whatever cool stuff is posted here or sent to me in other way I'll try to sort and keep organised.

Also would like to find one prefered material sharing scene for us c4d-users. Maybe the octane-one from the octane demo scenes? We could build a nice c4doctane material library.

Glad you like the music. Make use of it. In animation or at party.

Hi there,

@ten: Glad you like it and got something useful out of it. I will add more or update it, when I have some spare time.

@martincarlson: Yeah, a Material Database project File would be also very good. I have some custom made materials I spent some time on, which I also like to share. I think the project file from the demo scene is ok for that. But it would be also nice to have the "Material-Object", that is used in the standalone version. It gives a good overall view of material characteristics. Maybe it can be importet by orbx in C4D? Didn`t try this yet.

Making the post stick will be done by ahmet, i guess.

I also like your music! Great Energy... "Slave to the arppeggio" is my favorite, very high octane energy :)

Cya,
