How to get a glow on a specific object

Hi there,

I'm trying to replicate a classic makeup mirror style (that mirror with light bulbs around it), but I'm having a little trouble with the lights.

Inittialy, I tried to put a filament inside every light and apply an emissive material on it, but the results weren't what I expected, because the fillament contour were very sharp. Turning the camera bloom waaaaay high did the trick, but it also washed my entire scene.

So I tried to replace the fillaments with a simple sphere and applied the emissive material on it, but the same problem occurs: without the camera bloom, the sphere becames very sharp, with no glow, and doesn't seem like lights.

What I'm trying to achieve is exactly this:

Instead, what I'm getting is this:

I know I can do this on post, but Is it possible to apply the camera bloom (or just a glow) on an specific material?

Thanks.

Hi wsilva,
no it is not possible, but you can split the emission(visible = glow, invisible = lighting), and also greatly simplify the scene complexity with this trick:
viewtopic.php?f=23&t=52982&p=266457&hilit=emitter+visible#p266457
viewtopic.php?f=30&t=58400&p=300406&hilit=emitter+visible#p300406
ciao beppe

Thanks bepe, would be nice if Octane had this option (control the glow of a specific object - maybe with object tag) but your solution is a nice workaround for other situations. 8-)

Thanks.
