Hey guys, can someone explain what it does in few words ? Some say that is some kind of "Emergency" use, thought i can activate the license for a day or something while unpaid.
Others say it helps with activation like moving from one device to another ( so basically 3 people can use the account at the same time ? Or it restricts the access when other device is online, if yes i don't see the point of the unlcoks at all. They could just do similiar to Origin client, if another user is online it automatically disconnects or gives an option to disconnect the other user ).

So what it does exactly ?

Hi Exaco,
a subscription can be used only on one machine at a time.
About the Unlock button, the license is floating, and automatically deactivate on exit, ready to be activated on another machine. The active licenses can also be deactivated by pressing the Sign-out button in menu File/Account of OctaneVR Standalone. In this way, all the active licenses on that machine will be deactivated at once. But if for any reason, eg a crash, you are not able to manually deactivate your licenses, it is possible to use the web deactivation by pressing the Unlock button beside each license in your OctaneLive page. The licenses will be deactivated, and the counter will be reduced by one, it will be reset the next month.
So the Unlock button should be used only in "Emergency" case.

Sometimes it doesn't deactivate on exit and I have to run home or to work to deactivate it manually.

Hi Alexd9,
if you are using c4doctane, please upgrade to v3.06.2, since there was an issue with previous versions that was blocking the correct deactivation of plugin on exit, in some circumstances.

The V3 license recovery system allows a limited number of license 'Unlocks' over a given period, the exact number of available Unlocks and how often they are replenished is still being evaluated so the number available may change at a later date. Please note that this system is only intended for recovering licenses in situations where you cannot deactivate via the application, as V3 automatically releases licenses every time you close Octane or the host application. If you are running V3 in Offline Licensing mode, you will need to deactivate licenses via the Standalone/Plugin interface, as V3 will not release them automatically.
