I'm trying to understand what is the pipeline to enable Lightfield animations in VR.
I'm currently experimenting with motion graphics / musicvideo type of experiences in Unity, because I couldn't figure how to allow 6dof in my Rift headset any other way, I reverted to an environemtn that is build for that - real time engines.
I know Cinema4D and Octane much better, plus, obviously, it is much easier to make content in Cinema if it needs not to be interactive.
Reading all the wonderful stuff on lightfield tech, I realize that it's the future, but I can't understand how can I experiment with it right now? I didn't find a way to render to ORBX from Cinema. Is it something I must do in standalone? Is it all possible at the moment? I'm willing to invest in more software / hardware.
Just trying to figure out what's the path between idea/implementation in Cinema -> 6dof lightfield magic inside HMD.
