Hi,
My intention is to make with C4D & Octane render, large prints with high detailed collages.
Normally I work with Apple, and I don't have any idea which windows pc to choose.
I did a little research for the hardware.

I'm thinking to buy one of those Thinkstations (p500, p700, p900) of Lenovo, but I'm not sure if it's the right one.
Is there any other? Like Dell or HP?. Or should I do a pc build?
For me it's important to have a good technical service, because on a hardware side I'm not that skilled.
And later to do some hardware updates, like as example replace/add graphic cards.

My budget is 2500 - 3000 euros

What do you recommend?

hi, Tim.

if You're into PC for Octane it's much better to sratch build fro mthe start due to the fact You can put exactly what You want.

if resolutions matter, grab TitanX as render card - those 12 GB will be worth the price (1k $ or EU, depending where You live),
for CPU it's enough to have quad core (300-500$). z170 motherboardwill also give You alot of benefits (200-400$) including support for bery fast NVMe drives (~400$ for 400GB). DDR4 RAM - grab 32GB (should be enough =) There rest will be case & some minor thigns like good fans& last but not least PSU. Do not save on those last bits, 'cos stability start from good stable power =) jsut decide what is Your upgrade plan in the future & schoose parts accordingly so You do not have to throw out something, but simply put extra GPU without need of changing PSU & motherboard..same goes for case..

overall to put together good box it's not a problem - You get all instruction with parts & it will not take more then evening for this =) & if You choose the right parts (or someOne does that for You) - You're good o go & order them online for the best part You can get. Ceber monday is just around the corner - You might end up having cool deals & save a bit for getting better parts =)

personally I would not go with prebuild systems, because I would liek to know exactly what I have isnide my box..

Thanks for the info. I recently visited a local computerstore (www.alternate.be), and they did a pc build selection:

- Corsair RM1000 PSU

- Microsoft Windows 8.1, Software (Nederlands, 32-bit)

As you can see, I choose the GTX 980 Ti hybrid (899 euro), because the Titan X was 1499 euro.

- Is the Corsair RM1000 enough to do later some updates with an extra GPU?
- Is the microsoft 8.1 32-bit the right version to use for C4D and octane?
- Wich monitor do you recommend? I heard good reviews from Eizo screens.
In the shop they have the EIZO 23.8" Monitor EV2450-BK (299 euros)
It's mostly for C4D & octane use, and maybe once in a week for gaming.
