Ok, now that gets me excited! I've been waiting years to be able to develop light-fields in my industry.

Can you provide an update on your progress? I'm not expecting an ETA, as I prefer you guys to get it done right. But I would love to follow the development progress.

Thanks, guys. I'm really enjoying your software!

We plan to be at Octane 4 RC1 shortly, and will share our roadmap at Siggraph next week: https://twitter.com/OTOY/status/1027412870907084801

If you haven't tried, you should definitely look at:

https://store.steampowered.com/app/7713 ... ht_Fields/

It's an incredible and fun demo of light fields. It's a nice benchmark for VR realism, and once mainstream VR headsets will have HDR displays it will be complete.

Thank you Paul Debevec and colleagues! In 2016 he switched from Otoy to Google VR.

Below is more info on how they made it, they also say they are releasing the compressor needed to create compact content.

I hope they create some tools soon with which we can view our Octane light field content! Super excited about this!

Debevec starts at 10:30 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lpu4GJZLXEw
