i wonder how far has oculus/octane come?

Can I order an oculus rift dk2 and use it for presentations?

Will I need to buy extra software and what is delivery time for the rift?

Thanks in advance :-)

DK2 to is not for sale anymore, if I have understood correct.

This is not a good option for taking to presentation either, unless you want to build your pc on site, loads of cables and setting up..

GearVR however works fine. Just put in your back pack, unpackit on site and knock the clients out with your presentation. :)

you have e point on the missing mobility regarding oculus rift (still on sale) - i have orded a headset from http://www.homido.com/ and will try to see what i can get out of it :-)

then next year oculus rift for gaming :-)

We have one of these in the office. It is not really comparable to the experience you get with Gear VR.

hi goldorak

i have found out that the combination of homido headset and iphone 5 works quite well - though we could use a more intuitive app, but vr mobile station works ok for now.

i have only testet inhouse so far. the images / screen are a bit grainy, but gives a good feeling - my colleagues are impressed and sees the potential.

i have now added some 3d people from axyz-design.com, to give a better feeling of scale.

we have an external presentation of a project tomorrow, where we are going to use 3d for the first time - exciting.

it's not hard to make a small box for Oculus devices..- NCASE, or other simillar one, even mITX direcly build in Pelicase is a option.
I believe new device comming from Oculus will be way better than what's already on the market..- so if You're not in a hurry maybe looking towards that direction is a wise option.
However personally I'm really impressed by the quality out of GearVR.
