Uploading to the Metaverse WIP

A few questions. What is the player technology used to view panos in the Metaverse WIP forum? Is it supposed to work on an iPad? I can't get any images viewable on iPad but they work fine on my Mac via Safari.

If we upload various formats to test our panos can we delete those posts afterwards? At this point I am just interested in seeing how things behave with some very rudimentary tests and would not want those cluttering the forums.

The panos in those forums seem to be stuck at a fixed FOV - is zooming in and out as in other pano players not possible (or am I missing the correct commands to do so).

Can panos submitted to the Metaverse competition and for playback in Gear VR be authored to limit the FOV to certain restrictions? For instance, when I generate panoramas from my equirectangular images in Pano2vr , I can set the min and max degrees to which a user can zoom in and out. Or I can decide what the default FOV will be when opened in the player.

There is no changing the viewable FOV - it is a 360 panorama that can be viewed from any angle in the Gear VR. The FOV of the device itself is ~110 x 90 degrees per eye.

Ok thanks that's helpful. Also makes authoring a scene a bit easier I think if the user can't freely zoom in as we don't have to worry about the resolution of objects appearing pixelated.

What about those players in the WIP section though - do they support playback on an iPad? I have no trouble viewing them on a Mac or even Nexus 7, but nothing ever appears on my iPad.

The inline viewer may not display correctly on mobile devices.
There is a link below the inline viewer for affected devices (This will open the viewer directly)

If the viewer above does not display correctly for your device, you can load the viewer directly.

hi Goldorak. are you shure about approx. 110 x 90? is seems so extremly wide angle... if i render a 6 by 4 image the cam is at 12mm to provide 110x 90 degrees...
