Hi,
I think, that Metalic Material using by Universal one has bug. It not receive light from ground, only from Sky or other surrounding materials.

It shouldn't looks like this. Totally black under. Please repair this. This is not related to any renderer type or settings but material type. Also even if this is not totally metallic material with cranked up Diffuse there is the same - totally black. No light transportation from the ground.

I was used HDR map and bright plane - Cinema 4D - always the same effect - black under metallic material.

Hi SSmolak,

Out of curiosity, could you share a screenshot of the render settings?

Do you have "Visible on specular" checked in the blackbody/texture emission of the plane?
Can you make a simpler scene and see if the problem is still there?

This is simple scene with default settings. Ground is simple plane with bright Diffuse Material. But I also totally simplified this scene with the same issue. I don't know if this is physically correct when Specular Map is set to 1 and we have totally black areas like this. It looks like these areas doesn't have anything to reflect :

Other example is IOR cranked up to max. But there is no material in real world with IOR=8...
