Raycast node analogue in Octane

Hello,

I work in Octane for MODO and I met a problem how to get a certain information from Octane render engine. On the picture embedded is a nodal scheme, where I measure a vector length from my Spotlight to the nearest surface where the ray from the spotlight hits. I use a MODO's raycast node to get this hit distance. To make this raycast node work I need to run native MODO's render engine - this means it's useless in case of Octane render. Is there a chance to obtain same information from Octane? Maybe via OSL language?

Thanks in advance!
