Hi guys,
I have been trying to use an animated vertex map to drive and grow scattered objects on a surface, but I cant seem to get it to work at all.
It seems that any way I try to use an animated vertex map (directly in the Vertex map assignment inside scatter / through a shader effector / with a restriction tag, etc), even when the vertex map has been cached (via an alembic scene export) nothing happens, or everything freezes?
Currently I am using an animated black and white shader created in After Effects to drive the animation, but I would really like to be able to take advantage of fields and all the ways you can animate vertex maps inside C4D, as the current method only really works well on a flat 2D plane.
Does anyone have any advice for this? Or is it not something that scatter is going to work with?
Thanks!
