Hi Anyway to make octane preview displacement at least at a low res in a viewport. We simulate Phoenix smoke that hits the ground (phoenix has no idea about a displacement that will happens during rendering) and then during rendering octane displacement kicks in and mismatches simulated phoenix and displacement.

Hi,
you can use the same subdivided mesh with a displacement modifier, to have it in viwport, and hide it in rendering.
In c4doctane you can use a Displace deformer, probably you can do the same also in Max.
ciao Beppe
