Open Frame GPU Rig Recommendations/Help Tweet

Hey there, I'm looking to get 4-6 cards to build a rig that connects with my main PC for rendering and curious what the best options are for this. I've seen a lot of stuff about open rigs and just trying to figure out what may be best for me. I'd prefer to spend a majority of the budget on the GPU's rather than excess parts so cost effectiveness is definitely a factor.

I'm currently running two 1080's in my rig so I would like to not limit my VRAM usage. With an open frame would it still be better to get blower style cards as well or are the after market cards actually better in an open frame build?

Also any general build recommendations (motherboards, ram necessary, CPU's) are all appreciated. If you have any other recommendations rather than an open frame I am ~open~ to those as well.
