Hi turtles123, cooling is very important in Multi GPU Rendering. If temperature is too high, the GPU power is cut down to reduce the heat. Check with GPU-Z the temperature GPU Load and TDP during rendering. Better to have founder edition, with space in between, or even better, hybrid/watercooled GPUs in Multi GPU solutions. ciao beppe
thanks for the reply, my temperature should be fine, they never exceed 75 degree.
i was checking the forums, and i find out that if i am using the same card for rendering and video output on my two monitors i will have slower performances. is this true?
Hi turtles123, yes, if you connect monitors to GPU, the total VRAM is reduced by the resolution of the monitors, and you need to enable the Priority, to leave a bit of power for the system. Always better to have an internal iGPU or single slot GPU for monitors, and leave the GTX for rendering only. ciao beppe
for now i have a cheap motherboard, and i cant cant put more gpus. is it possible to uns nvidia gpus for render and intell gpu for monitor? i tried, but the intell gpu doesnt work working, i assumed that if the system detect a normal gpu it shuts down the intell gpu, is it true?
Hi turtles123, yes, you can use the Intel iGPU for system display, and the CUDA card for Octane only. Probably you need to make some changes in the motherboard bios to set it as primary GPU. Check the manual of the motherboard, it should be surely possible. ciao beppe
