Z-Depth banding problem

Hi!

I'm having a weird problem concerning the Z-Depth pass in Octane.
In the Picture Viewer the z-pass looks good, no problems there. But the file on disk is very banded. I can't figure out why this is happening. My render settings are set to 16-bit PNG.

You'll have to view the picture at 100% to really appreciate the problem.

Anyone have any ideas to fix this problem?

Thnx!
Rob.
