Lock camera?

hi

i'm new to the standalone - and what i miss, or have overlooked, is the ability to lock cameras position and target.

could a simple 'lock' be added to the camera settings - like shown on the attached image?

thanks

i know there is a 'lock camera' on the render view - but that locks all cameras.

i would just like to lock the camera i have setup with the view i want, then i have a other camera to further explore the model.

it's quite critical if i have setup a render and have started to do post work in ps, and i when, by accident move the camera in octane.

but i might just don't use the standalone version as i'm supposed to do.

That's a good point. That will need specific support I think

Being able to lock a camera directly within a node can be useful. Even more so would be the ability to save value sets for node parameters. That way you would not need to clutter the interface with so many different node variations while setting up and experimenting with a scene. If you save a value you liked, you could just toggle back to it.

i'll prefer a simple click to lock solution - as i'm not so advanced. but there multiple solutions might be useful.

is it possible to get some feedback from the developers on this request?

thanks

@pegot: with latest versions, you can right click on a node in the node inspector and expose the node in node graph.
If you expose and group your camera, you can expose the position/target node and duplicate them for backup, inside the camera group, without spaghetti madness ;)
You can also save group of nodes inside the LocalDB, not only materials.

@Jorgensen: probably something could be done with a scripted graph between the thin camera node and the render target node

or with a simple "lock" icon?

i'm not an advanced user, so scripting is not an option for me :-/

Hi Jorgensen,
yes the idea is to write a scripted graph node with a camera-in and camera-out pin, and a boolean value on/off for locking the camera. The thin-lens camera node need to be exposed, and the scripted graph goes in between the camera and the RT node.
Do you think it could be useful?
