So i feel let down by Otoys lack of Roadmap, as we have been developing more of UE4 as this appeared to be the engine that is suggested in all of the demos released by Otoy.

So that leaves me asking when will UE4 be supported or is Otoy focusing now on Unity instead of UE.

We have put equal dev resources behind both engines - and game engine integration is much more challenging than the Octane DCC plug-ins to date (geometry buffers are very difficult to access in UE4 to this day without performance hit). We tested UE4 with 2.x but felt it was pretty important for this to wait for 3.0 and get baking support (which is now up and running).

In the case of Unity, things changed in a big way last year when Unity decided to make Octane a built-in part of the engine. They committed to changing the Unity source code during 2017 to fully accommodate Octane and make this workflow seamless and come to market quickly. There are a lot of devs on their side helping out, including Joachim (Unity co-founder).

This is speeding up the Unity roadmap, and that is why it is coming out so quickly. We aren't slowing down the work on the UE4 plug-in in any way (it is being worked on in parallel), and hope to have it out as soon as possible as well.
