Sitting in forum and writing posts or answering some questions is a work & we should understand this.
It takes time out of coding, out of concentration..uninterrupted mind..

Personally I wouldn't mind that developers are a silent, though in resent days they do answer a lot of questions.
I believe they are trying to get into conversation & this pool is a good example..

You might say it's not perfect, it could be done better - in the end is not the conversation that matters,
but the product. Think it's enough they read everything.

What do want from Them more: software solution or answers. Me, personally I'd choose software..

As for the features, I do believe the road-map is already laid out & they probably have their own thoughs,
and/or technical reasons on what is the best way and sequence to implement features.

So maybe, let them do their 'poetry in code' trying to keep them out from this forum?.. - just a though..

Product development without conversation could end up frustrating users. Like we've seen on the forums over the last year. We need both. Otoy needs both.

Some more transparency generally would be appreciated by me for one. Users are normally understanding when there are glitches, issues, challenges. Even failures. I really appreciated Abstrax's update post of about 3 weeks ago (read by 12k other forum members). This kind of post used to happen a lot. I miss seeing such updates regularly. Let's call it small accounts, or 'smidgen talk' to make about 170 enthusiast users feel they're still on the planet.

I do agree with You, as for OTOY a bit more communication would be nice.

But we have to appreciate the fact that community is big (even not so active) & in comparison development team is small enough. It's nice we get replies from developers directly at all (not from some representatives..- it would be easy for them to hire some guys to spread some ideas, but would be suitable solution?..) & it seems, at least for me, they are trying to communicate a bit more. Change doesn't happen so fast, but at least we start seeing some change here =) they explained a lot recently..

what about proxies (like vray), as build in xref object in max is not really safe...

I really enjoy the material Live Database working with an unbiased mindset.
I would like it to have some more development allowing me to add and edit my own materials (from Maya) and an offline capability.

I could use proxies in Maya too.

Agreed.
For ARCHVIZ, my priorities would be:
Daylight & HDRI
Multilight
Internal Texture mapping
Rounded edges
Hair & fur could be very useful for grass though...

Perhaps we should start an archviz feature request topic because the industries are really varied.

I could use render booleans or even a clip plane (camera independent) to do some cross sections shots for architecture without adding light through the holes/clip planes.
Works fine with near clip from camera, but isometric/perspective cross sections would be more communicative. The unbiased render makes the walls nicely black.
