eGPU with 3090 for a desktop and a laptop PC

Hello everyone,
I'm currently using Octane for C4D on a desktop computer with an i9 processor and a 3090 card.
To make it evolve, I plan to buy an eGPU in which will be installed a second 3090 card.

I also plan to buy a laptop with a 3070 that I can also connect to the eGPU as needed.

Does this evolution seem wise to you? Will Octane correctly identify this card plugged into the eGPU as a second 3090 card? If any of you have experience in this area, I'm interested.
Do you have any brands to recommend for the eGPU please?

Sorry if some of you have already seen this post on the "Hardware for OctaneRender" Facebook forum, I'd be interested in getting more points of view

Thanks in advance everyone

hi,
assuming you have a Thunderbolt 3/4 port on your motherboard, it works pretty well.
I'm using this solution with a Mac Pro + Win 11, with one RTX 3060 inside, and another one via eGPU Breakaway by Sonnet:

The internal GPU goes at 16x PCI-Bus, while the external eGPU goes at 4x.

ciao,
Beppe

Before you buy it, please check if it fits a 3090 (I'm assuming it is a 3-slot gpu), because I think it doesn't (the Razer Core).
