upgrading Questions

Is there a way to upgrade Octane 4 to Octane (2020.x) as perpetual without the 1-years Annual Maintenance?
Or furthermore, I only use 1 plugin and don't need 20 more. So it seems like a waste/bad deal for me. paying over $500 to buy a 21 count item when I'm only ever going to use/need 1.
It's like a person paying for the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite. When they are only going to use Photoshop.

I Just need Poser Plugin (2020.X). :D
I don't need or use the others at all.
And the new version of poser (Poser 12) that I upgraded to. Only uses Octane (2020.x).
So, I paid $142.62 to upgrade my main software. And now I have to pay over $500 for the rendering plugin.

Also, on the list of supporting programs a lot of them are ones that hobbyists use.
So I don't think any none professional artist will spend that much on the main program let alone a plugin for it.

I really like Octane. I just don't want to jump ship like I did the Reality Render Engine for poser when I discovered Octane.

Thanks

I'm actually in the same boat as you. I have Octane V4 for Maya but I can't go beyond Maya 2018 now. From my understanding, in order to upgrade, you would actually do "Enterprise Maintenance Upgrade" which would cost you 200€ and would expire after 1 year. If you look on the Buy page, it does specifically mention upgrading from V4 and it sounds like it may be a limited time based on the wording. If I'm not understanding this correctly, then I hope someone steps in, but I think this is how it is for us. It sucks that everything is now subscription based :(

I hope this helped. Good luck!

Hi,
coming from v4, you have two possibilities:

1. If you want to use new versions, you can purchase an annual Enterprise subscription update for 199€, but at the end of the annual maintenance, your licenses will go back to v4:

2. if you want to upgrade also your v4 perpetual licenses to perpetual v2020, the upgrading path is more expensive, but at the end of the annual maintenance your licenses will stay to v2020, to know the price, please visit the following link.:
