Hi, I'm using Octane Render in Cimena 4D and I'm trying to create this translucent plastic:

I created a specular material and played with the options, but just can't get it to look right. The challenge I'm having is making it glossy/reflective with just enough translucency to see the bottle threads underneath. Any suggestions or tips? Thanks you.

Hi,
have you tried with Absorption, and a little bit of Scattering in the Medium?

yep, what beppe said is the ticket. I do plastic caps alot and even with "clear" plastic you need a medium to get it looking correct.
Intel i7-3930K, 64gb RAM, Asus X79 Deluxe mobo, 2x EVGA 780 6gb (for rendering), 1x PNY quaddro k4000 (for display)
Windows 8.1 x64, Maya 2014, Octane Render v2
