Texel Density Shader

Hi all,

Has anyone out there had thoughts about, created or seen a Octane tool or OSL shader that renders or displays the texel denisty across objects in a scene? Maybe as a render pass?

This might be something similar to Unreal's buffer view "Required Texture Resolution."

Standalone or for Maya plugin would be preferred.

Thanks,

Dan

Hi Dan,
maybe I have misunderstood your question, but, what about the InfoChannel/Texture Coordinates pass?

Texture Coordinates - A color-coded image showing a Gradient map based on the direction of the object’s UV texture coordinates.
