yes it is of use. It is much easier to understand all the different settings of octane for c4d by watching the tuts instead of reading an an never uptodate documentation.
IMHO it's worth the money.

Ok, so we bought this training at work. So far it's very informative which is great because when we bought 5 licenses of Octane, I had to pretty much just jump in and learn on the run only the things I use it for. However, something is really bothering me, and I know it's a bit nitpicky, but the guy that does the voice-over really needs to talk normally. Ending every single sentence on the same pitch and tone is going to drive me absolutely crazy! haha. Sorry, I just had to say it. Just speak normally, not so formal and robotic. Seriously, every sentence is ended the same exact way. I'm hoping I'll just get used to it, but it's ruining my focus, as silly as that is and sounds. Other than that, great training so far.

I can confirm that's very good on technically and has much more informations than a manual. Because Dobromir(InlifeThrill) asked many things to me while doing that. He was a beta tester also. Also he has a good aspects on creativity, techniques and doing really rock-solid works. Not a surprise for me that he did a cool job on "Training".

I would like to see more support like that.

I also bought the training, great work but I agree with the voice it's rapidely become boring and distracting. Another thing it could be saled with all the testing files to be sure that we understand the details and that we can verify if we do it right. Good work really but only the voice :D :D :D

I purchased this training the same day I also purchase Octane.
It did the job of putting me up to speed in using the software.Personally I think it is intended for new Octane beginners that rather going through the manual, it explains visually Octane's features.
The main negative side of it has to do with the fact that is doesn't provide any scenes for you to follow along. This is very counter productive, especially for beginners that are trying to do what the videos are showing, with the same results, without the knowledge to do it. Fortunately I had some previous knowledge while playing with the demo. Although it is welcomed to provide the final camera animation file (no animation, only a static closeup camera). Not providing the scene files turns this training overpriced, when compared to other training out there (not limited to Octane).
The voice over is a bit dull, like others had mentioned but not necessarily a bad thing.
Personally I give it a 3 out of 5 stars.

I thought the training was very good. I'm very experienced in 3d, but new to Octane. I very much respect and appreciate the preparation that went into the training and how there is very little entertainment or candy. This is meaty stuff. Highly recommended.

Yes, typical Bulgarian accent + mechanical voice. It is indeed distraction at the beginning, but you get used to that quite fast.

The training is itself very well balanced in my opinion and well structured. I could imagine how easy it would be to play with the settings on screen and make some cool stuff. I felt, that going through some of the settings, could use some more time. But on the other hand, it is already 4.5 hours long and works perfectly as an introduction. By the end of it, i'm feeling confident to do commercial, small project, in octane only. Job well done.

Looking forward to the next training from inlifethrill.
