CUDA error 719 with Turbulence FD

Hi,

Sorry this is my second topic, but this time this isn't because of the NVIDIA driver. I reverted back to v 417.71

Code: Select all
A. Windows 10 10.0.17134 Build 17134
B. nVIDIA GTX 1080 Ti Aorus Gigabyte
C. 32Gb RAM 3000Mhz
D. nVIDIA GeForce Game Ready Driver 417.71
E. Standalone not installed
F. OctaneRender plugin version 4.02
G. Cinema 4D R19.053 Student Version

This happens when I work on a Turbulence FD volume. The scene is extremely slow and then "Error Failure" appears.

While trying to render I checked GPU-Z and nothing seemed strange : GPU Load 100%, VRAM usage was 2.8Gb , 54°C, Fan speed 31%, 1500/1900Mhz Core clock speed.
Though I don't know if this is normal, but my GPU rarely (if ever) gets over 60°C when using Octane. I thought it was throttled at first, but GPU-Z gave me the correct CoreClock speeds of 1984 Mhz and GPU load 100% So I guess it's fine ?

Code: Select all
Started logging on 06.02.19 10:39:13

OctaneRender Studio 4.02 (4020000)

What is the cause of this error ? How can I resolve it ? Thanks a lot !

Lower your gpu frequency and give new try.

ok. how low should I go, do you have any recommendation for this test ?

EDIT : Ok I downloaded MSI Afterburner and changed the clock speed to lower settings. It didn't do anything. Still render failure.

Do you think the problem is that my single GPU is not powerful enough ? I need another one ?

Aoktar, I found the problem.... My Volume Step Length was too low (0.001 something like that). I made it higher and all of a sudden Octane got a lot faster and more responsive. :D

Ok that's great! having very small values will give much stress to gpus.
