Rounded edges shader fails on some geometry

I have 2 virtually identical triangles. The rounded edges shader works perfectly on one of them, but 100% fails on the other. Can anyone help explain why this happens?

Project attached. Polys are all seals, no duplicate points, no other mesh check errors, one of them just refuses to work.

Hi,
there is something strange in the triangle on the left, if you parent it to a c4d Connect object, it becomes flat

Hi,

It is worth to mention that round edges is a highly handy option for some specific cases (e.g. triangulated CAD data) where beveling and other modeling operations are not viable anymore.

It is, generally speaking, best to favor modeling-level beveled edges than entirely relying on shading-level round edges. Especially in such simple modeling case.
