Most of the employees at the company are architects.
Fast basic animations / visualizations are created with Octane.
the company has no interest in keeping their software up to date.
It took me more than a year to convince them of a current cinema version.
we have about ten v4 versions + 6 render nodes.
Otoy's subscription model is quite complex to see through and the company does not want to spend any money in the near future.
so unfortunately I have to work with Octane v4.

I personally have the current 2020 at home, of course, and I really appreciate the advantages of 2020 and all the features to come.
at least v4 with s22 would be great but if it is too much work then i have to stay on r21 in the near future at the workplace.

Thank you anyway!

It's endless story to keep old versions live for every new c4d release. Sorry! Probably impossible!

Hi baghbanikm,

can you use old Cycles 4D v3 or X-Particles 4 with C4D S22 or R23?
Nope, you have to update to the latest version, paying a full license.

With Octane, you just need to update for 199€, that’s it.

Hi everyone.

Is this forum still active?

My Geforce 4070 does not render with V4.05R7. Is there any way I can make this old version work with newer cards?

It's not possible due to facts of updated development dependencies and incompatibilities of new hardwares to old command sets.
