Sorry to ask this i know its kinda stupid, but i have to ask if there is a possible ETA for R20? I have a project that is meant for R20 and only thing that is holding me back is network rendering in there and stable octane. If any info or estimate availiable, will be greatly appreciated. ty

Please excuse my ignorance, but what does the acronym ETA stand for?

SSS means Sub Surface Scattering. Without a closed mesh there is no sub surface, just surfaces.

Hi thanulee,
it depends, for liquid/foggy objects it is not always necessary to close the mesh, but it is better to have closed meshes with solid dense objects that interact with eachother, like yours.

From the manual:

Also, make sure your object is closed or thick when using Mediums. In single sided objects, mediums will not work.
